Thema: Responding to Life Itself. A 3-Day Study Symposium

Join us for a three-day study symposium, ‘Responding to Life Itself: Working with a Transcultural Model of Care and Counseling’, taking place July 3–6, 2025, at the Emmaus Retreat Center in Helvoirt, Netherlands.

This intimate gathering will offer a unique opportunity for deep discussions and shared learning, focusing on transcultural similarities in chaplaincy, care, and counseling – particularly within the existential and spiritual domains.

Using the concept of ‘responding to life itself‘, we will explore how spiritual processes emerge from life’s experiences and examine a model of generic chaplaincy intervention as a pathway to existential well-being. Together, we will reflect on how, or if, this model fits our varied cultural and religious backgrounds.

To help with planning, please express your interest in attending (online or in-person) by emailing Ursula Harfst at ursulaharfst@gmx.net or Linda Bredvik at linda@bredvik.com no later than 15 March. Cost will be € 275 for a double room and € 325-350 for a single room. We are currently working on details for an online component, which will be approximately € 50 per person. More details on registration and payment will be shared soon.

For more information about the venue, you may want to visit their website.
